my mother

2009 has been a great year for me in many ways. wonderful travels to berlin, prague and lund, time for creative projects and exploration of film photography. not to mention all the good times spent with family and friends. the only thing missing in 2009 was a job. i have a project employment at a museum starting in january. so this far i like 2010. : )
happy new year everybody! and thanks for your visits and comments over the past year. see you next year : )

2009 is slowly coming to an end. slowly in my world as the days between christmas and new year have been slow and cosy. went to visit my grandmother yesterday - she taught me some knitting tricks and we went for a frosty walk (show you some photos tomorrow) i’m also enjoying the lovely presents i got this christmas, beautiful things like the red milk jug in the first photo with red cups accompanying it. as you can see in the last photo my knitting project is progressing (however slowly). i’m knitting a hand towel in the same fashion as the ones my grandmother makes. never thought it would be that much fun to knit!

my mother took this

hello, hello! i have changed location as i’m spending christmas at my parents house. all day yesterday the snow was falling but i didn’t arrive until in the evening when it was already dark. today i was so eager to get outside and enjoy/photograph the beautiful snowy landscape. i brought my contax camera alongside my digital camera and it felt great to take film photos again, allthough i’m always a bit indecisive having two cameras to choose between. : )
thanks for all your sweet comments and happy holidays!

replies
- famapa: oh dark grey moleskines - i would be up for that as well! a great idea. hehe fun that there’s quite a few of us red moleskine addicts out there : )
- a.: you are right, red and greens really dominate the previous post…i most often don’t realize until it’s posted : )
- emilia: den er også så fin!
- silk: thanks silk! cool you’ve just bought it as well. i haven’t started writing in mine yet but i’m looking forward to start using it.
- rynke: hehe, yeah i guess they are all over the place, we were totally tricked : )

i can’t resist red moleskine diaries, it’s a fact. a couple of days ago i went christmas shopping and by coincidence spotted a bookshop that was selling moleskines. there’s always less red moleskines than black ones and therefore i convinced myself that it was a unique opportunity to get one in red (allthough i also got one just like it last year) and ended up buying one even though i had decided not to. silly, silly. photos are from a walk today in the nearby cemetery.
hope you’ll have a great friday!

- ai: it is extremely cold i can tell you! i’m wearing layers and layers of clothes to stay warm : )
this climate conference really is becoming more and more dramatic…looks like there’s not going to be an agreement, at this moment : /
- cissi: yeah it’s amazing how effectively snow lights up the sky! so pretty
- rynke: thanks! glad to hear you got snow as well : ) here there’s also not that much snow on the streets - i went to the nearby cemetery to actually walk in snow.
- lorenza: fingers crossed for a white christmas!
- ulrika: tak ulrika!
- allison: yeah, fingers crossed!
- maria: it hasn’t been a white christmas in denmark for years - i’m hoping for one as well : )
- anairam: : )
- mary: i hope you will have snow in france as well soon! it really is fun to see all these simultaneous snow posts from around the world, i agree.

the first day of snow! it’s freezing cold today and the streets are covered in snow. so beautiful. took these photos late last night from my window.
today and tomorrow are crucial days in relation to the UN climate conference taking place here in copenhagen and the possibilities of reaching an agreement. i really, really hope they will agree on an ambitious plan!

- rynke: i hope you will have snow outside your window when you wake up tomorrow! : )
- anna: they are called korgis here as well i think. they are very cute indeed.
- máni: exately, yay to snow! : )
- deleilan: hi deleilan and thanks!

it was snowing when i woke up this morning, such a beautiful sight! it’s still above zero degrees so the snow melted almost before it hit the ground. still looked pretty when it came tumbling down.
have a great day folks!

- nate: thanks for the article link nate! i haven’t read it before but found it very interesting reading. in general i like winter and the cosiness of this darker season but at times i miss the light - reading this article really reminded me of all the positive aspects of winter darkness.
- kristina: tak! jeg kan også godt lide første billede, hvor bøf har sin fulde opmærksomhed på den store hund. : )
- heodeza: thank you! i realized after posting the two photos that it looked anything but random - the color scheme of the photos being almost identical. hihi
- elisabelle: thanks elisabelle! funny how this november shot looks even more wintery than any photo i have taken in december : )
- a.: hey a. actually i didn’t know the name of this breed, but having looked up corgi i’m sure it is a corgi.
- nathalie: that sound great…i don’t know what fabric to go for yet..not sure if i should try out a pattern or “freestyle” : ) what are your plans?
- sekimachihato: they are the cutest dogs! i must admit that i’m a cat person as well though. i’m not sure i know how to describe the prenounciation of ‘bøf’ you can hear the prenounciation of ‘ø’ here i guess the ‘ø’ is prenounced almost like the ‘i’ in ‘bird’ said in a british accent. or perhaps you can compare the word ‘bøf’ to the french word ‘boeuf’
- maria: thank you maria!
- sandra: hey, glad you liked the dog post : )
- máni: thanks máni, you are so right, the house would be the perfect location for a fashion shoot
