ups…

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

well yesterday my brother and i visited our grandmother. a great trip but i forgot my camera there! don’t know when i will go and pick it up, so until then i have desided to draw a bit in the meantime. a small “one drawing a day” project!..we’ll see how it goes. thanks for all your comments on the cake post! i will let my friend helle know that her cakes made quite an impression.

i hope this owl drawing will be part of my bird postcard project…just have to make some adjustments/improvements and see how it fits into the ones i have made so far

- rudegirls: lige præcis - nam! lækre kager!
- lorenza: mmm crumble sounds great, i really like these types of cakes. may it be the first of many : )
- ai: i know almost overwhelming with all those delicious berries.!
- nathalie: that’s the thing..even though you eat lunch there’s still room for cake ; )
- ne: he, ja det er måske meget godt : )
- anairam: hehe your comment made me smile anairam.
- epe, D: they were delicious
- máni: yeah i really like the colors in the first photo, looks almost analogue.
- anna: oh you are fasting, then i can imagine it being even harder to look at cakes…

delicious cakes made by helle

the weekend has been full of celebration - three birthdays to be exact! my friends anna and helle each held a birthday party and sunday NE’s father gave a birthday dinner. how was your weekend?

oh no, my browser just crashed and deleted all my comment replies…i’ll try with tomorrow’s post!

the last of summer

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

the last photos from the yashica film (i think) and probably the last summerish photos… i really like the first one with the airplane lines in the sky crossing.

hope you are having a great sunday!

- ulrika: thanks ulrika!
- sekimachihato: yeah, it looks so surreal the way they fly so closely together! the three ones are actually leading the way : ) otherwise i would have felt sorry as well
- anna: it wasn’t hard really…they were not flying that fast and the light conditions were okay. that valrhona chocolate is very good!!!
- julochka: hi julochka. i get them developed in a photo care shop at holmbladsgade. but i only get the negatives developed and then put on a cd-rom…it’s because the one managing the store develops them himself where most shops send them to somewhere else i guess. but it is more expensive than the regular development…my problem is that my scanner is bad at getting the colors right so therefore i prefer getting them on a disk. at some point i will get a photo scanner. do you scan them? it’s such a shame that it becomes harder and harder to communicate with the photo stores as you discribe because they don’t have that much expertise in film developing.
- allison: thanks! sounds like quite the sight you saw in seattle with so many of them flying in formation.

starlings and small surprises

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

hello fellow weekenders! (probably not a proper word) so far it has been a great weekend seeing old friends and meeting new people! these photos have no connection what so ever other than this blog post. the first one taken on samsø - of a small group of starlings doing a bit of formation flying. so fascinating to watch them when they fly in large numbers don’t you think? the second one of NE working on the computer and the last one shows a great surprise treat we recieved from our sweet neighbours because we had been looking after our four-legged neighbour rufus. thanks mette and D! delicious brownies, chocolate and red wine!

- ali: hello ali, great to hear from you again : ) and thanks for your kind words! happy you like the photos
- sekimachihato: i did the same, only with these uneatable red berries and i think you are right, that was your artistic side showing through : )
- epe, nathalie, kristina, anna and kristina k: thank you girls!
- rudegirls: hehe, fin lille sang ; )
- lorenza: yeah i really like the yashica as well, only sometimes i’m a bit frustrated with all the light leaks (about every second one of the photos in the film)but i guess that goes with the territory : )
- ne: hæ, det tænkte jeg nok
- kristi: thanks kristi, i only noticed the sky in the windows after i had the film developed
- alice: hi alice. i’m mostly using fujifilm superia. and mostly 200 iso..found a lot of roles at a very low cost in a supermarket. this one is a kodak film though. it was expired but apparently not “enough” as the colors turned out more or less normal. in general i’m content with the superia film, there’s a flickr group dedicated to it, so you can check it out there if you like.
- jenna: hello jenna! happy to have you back. i must head over to your blog to see what you have been up to! : )
- lorenza: yeah autumn light is somethng special!
- nathalie: nothing beats an empty and peaceful beach! after writing the note about photographing people from the back i realised that i like this type of pictures because of the slightly mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere you get…can’t really describe it properly. but they certainly become more “open” photos when you can’t see the person’s face
- paula: you are right, it was a very calm and relaxing holiday on samsø. i’m looking forward to see your august/september photos!
- alexandria: yeah, it’s such a great idea with that train hostel! very inventive! glad you liked the beach and film photos : )

bits and pieces

leaving you with some more photos from my latest yashica film. one from our local park/nature area and the other two taken at home. the third photo is of a lovely owl tote bag bought from greentees. thanks for all your comments on the “beach post”! glad you liked it!

have a great wednesday everybody!

beach

Monday, September 21st, 2009

a few more photos from samsø. these ones from a nice walk at the beach with quiet water and warm afternoon light. we had the beach to ourselves besides from an older couple (in the third photo) who had walked to the beach to empty their fish trap. we were surprised to see the man with the cane being the one climbing the big rocks to get to the trap but we both agreed that he had probably done that a million times before.

note: at some point i have to start photographing people from the front…

……..

we came back from the island samsø today. it has been a most wonderful weekend with bike rides around the island, great food and great company! so i’m just squeezing in some digital photos from samsø in between my film photos.

- paula: hi paula, thanks for your kind words about my film photos. these are all taken with my yashica
- alice: sorry to hear that you had two films ruined this way!
- máni: thank you máni : )

more film

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

just a quick hello this saturday! more photos from my most recent film. these are taken in malmö which we visited briefly on our way home from lund. hope you are all having a great weekend!

film

Friday, September 18th, 2009

greetings from samsø! we have arrived at the island and it’s such a beautiful place! i got two films back today..which turned out only to be one. i made the classic mistake of not having loaded the camera properly so the film came out blank. actually this hasn’t happened to me before (strangely enough) but i guess it had to happen sooner or later. anyway these photos are from the yashica film that did come out okay. first one of some berries found nearby where we live and second one from a park in lund.

and a couple more…

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

here are just a few more photos from lund and from the train journey going to lund. i like the one of NE holding his coffee cup in the air suspended while eagerly rephrasing a news article or something like that. tomorrow we are going to the small danish island called samsø to visit his father and stepmother who have a house there. i’m really looking forward!
