maps

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

i have a small collection of old maps that i pull out of my drawer from time to time to look at. i like maps for their patterns created by roads, rivers and country borders and less for their practical purpose.

art from code

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

i found this fascinating website called art from code the other day. it’s a page - as the title implies - about code generated art with pictures made by keith peters. i am really amazed by the organic shapes and patterns that he can create purely by coding in actionscript.

framed

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

i recently bought a lovely elephant print from the good machinery’s etsy shop. i finally got around to frame it and think i have found the perfect spot for it on the wall by the kitchen table. the last photos are of two prints i got from my former workplace. they are by the danish artist poul gernes and so colorful and graphic. now i just need to find the right frames for them.

mint green mania

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

the colour mint green has a strange attraction to me. this has meant that over the years i have collected a number of things almost purely because they were mint green. my collection ranges from kitchen utilities and jewelries to dishes and cans. well and then the colour also sneaks into a lot of my drawings.

note: i apologize for the bird’s missing feet, can’t seem to draw bird feet these days…

life in polaroid ll

Monday, January 26th, 2009

i just can’t stop experimenting with this polaroid software. these photos i took on a trip to strassbourg in the fall with niller and his sister brinja and her husband anders. it’s brinja and anders in the second last photo collecting chestnuts.

here are a couple more photos from the rail yard series of photos i took for my friend michael. i like them for their quiet atmosphere and the sense of time standing still.

life in polaroid

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

so it seems i’m the last one to know about the poladroid software that enables you to make regular jpegs look like polaroid pictures. it’s so much fun (i don’t want to count the hours i have already spend feeding this wonder machine with my photos) and quite drastically changes the look of the images. happy weekend everyone!

my desk

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

as i said i got tagged by brinja with the fun task of showing my desk. The thing is that i don’t really have a desk or at least not a stationary one. i tend to go for either the kitchen table or the couch arrangement or wherever my computer is….but sometimes i wish i had a desk. i imagine that would make me more organized..but then probably not : )

i tag outi, kaela, jeanette, ai and laura

i would love to see your workspace!

my desk (soon to come)

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

i got tagget by brinja to “show me your desk”. a brilliant tag idea!.  i’m a busy bee today editing the rail yard pictures so tomorrow i’ll post photos of my desk…or my lack thereof.

these pictures were taken yesterday afternoon just before it got dark from my livingroom window. today i swear i heard a bird singing = spring is just around the corner…
