relaxing?

i went to my cousin’s birthday party yesterday at my aunt’s house. since i visited them last, they had gotten a sweet kitten/teen-cat called ninja. a lively but also very patient little cat with a passion for tearing paper ( i guess that might be a general cat passion).

hello everybody, it’s been a while. i don’t know where the week went but i’m not complaining. hope you are enjoying a couple of days off as well. i’m going to finish my knitting hopefully and relax as much as possible. what are you up to this weekend?

photos from another walk in the neighbourhood and a sunday tea (or was it coffee??)…usually the danish winter is a lot milder than it has been this year. i guess that’s why i keep posting snow photos here - as we normally only have snow for a week or so and then it’s over.

buying flowers is a small luxury i treat myself with from time to time. such a joy to look at the fresh green leaves and yellow tulip heads this time of year. outside it is still snowing and snowing but today i thought i would have a snow free blog post : ) more snowy photos to come tomorrow…hoping for a change of weather soon.

even more snow came tumbling down friday night making the streets quite chaotic. again NE was the photographer taking people photos. i have to get better at this! ida: maybe we should challenge eachother to do something about it : )

the old couple in the first photo we saw walking very slowly arm in arm down the street. i hope they made it home safely.

it started snowing heavily again tuesday afternoon so after work NE and i took a walk in the neighbourhood to look at all the splendour. the last photo is taken by NE, as i found it too embarrassing to photograph her. i really like the way it turned out!

on the art gallery trip sunday we also went to see the exhibition ML 2090 in nikolaj copenhagen contemporary art center. a very fascinating exhibition by the artist ismar cirkinagic. the totalitarian architecture his installation portrays is said to be inspired by george orwell’s science fiction novel 1984. the ‘ML’ in the title of the project stands for ministry of love, another reference to orwell’s book. the full scale section of the imagined ministry of love made quite the impression, but also the small model i really liked. there’s just something spectacular (and a little bit scary!) about this type of architecture, even on a small scale.

the second last photo is taken in another gallery and is dedicated to NE who has an almost unhealthy interest in robot vacuum cleaners. yep that’s the round thing next to the sofa. it even looks like it’s color coordinated with the sofa. neat!

my friend marie and i went on an art gallery cruise of sorts this sunday. these photos are all taken in the gallery called overgaden. i really like the idea carried out in the first photo. sawing books into pieces and assembling them again forming new titles. sorry it’s in danish.

i’ll show you some more tomorrow.

good morning, good morning!…well actually it’s past noon but we woke up late this saturday. breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day so i’m a big fan of BIG breakfasts.
