the last of summer

- ulrika: thanks ulrika!
- sekimachihato: yeah, it looks so surreal the way they fly so closely together! the three ones are actually leading the way : ) otherwise i would have felt sorry as well
- anna: it wasn’t hard really…they were not flying that fast and the light conditions were okay. that valrhona chocolate is very good!!!
- julochka: hi julochka. i get them developed in a photo care shop at holmbladsgade. but i only get the negatives developed and then put on a cd-rom…it’s because the one managing the store develops them himself where most shops send them to somewhere else i guess. but it is more expensive than the regular development…my problem is that my scanner is bad at getting the colors right so therefore i prefer getting them on a disk. at some point i will get a photo scanner. do you scan them? it’s such a shame that it becomes harder and harder to communicate with the photo stores as you discribe because they don’t have that much expertise in film developing.
- allison: thanks! sounds like quite the sight you saw in seattle with so many of them flying in formation.

film

Friday, September 18th, 2009

greetings from samsø! we have arrived at the island and it’s such a beautiful place! i got two films back today..which turned out only to be one. i made the classic mistake of not having loaded the camera properly so the film came out blank. actually this hasn’t happened to me before (strangely enough) but i guess it had to happen sooner or later. anyway these photos are from the yashica film that did come out okay. first one of some berries found nearby where we live and second one from a park in lund.

- anairam: thank you anairam! it’s so great to get feedback from all of you. sorry to hear you have problems with getting your pictures bigger. i would love to help but i don’t use blogger but wordpress. i found this tutorial about bigger blogger photos though, you have probably already read it, but in case you haven’, here’s the link
- charlotte: hello charlotte : ) and thanks, i can only say the same about your yashica photos - they rock! liked the most recent ones with strawberries in them!

- epe: thank you epe - i hope to be posting the penguin one soon!
- paula: you are welcome
- ai: thanks ai, it’s so nice to get a new look, didn’t know how much i needed it until afterwards. texture is one of the best things about analogue photos i think

- atlantic treefox: thanks! i think i have come to that conclusion as well - keep it simple!
- kristi: yeah me to, swallows are such pretty birds - the sound of them reminds me of summer!

green, green, green

Monday, July 20th, 2009

when i got my most recent yashica film back the color green seemed to be dominant in many of the photos. like in these two. the top photo is from the nearby little birch grove at kalvebod fælled. the second one taken in my cousin’s appartment. i always liked her way of doing interior design.

- paula: thanks paula! and welcome back from holiday - i look forward to see your pictures!
- kinako: yeah that’s my favorite as well. and i can only agree, looking at other peoples homes and different interior design styles is very interesting. i really like that stencil also, she seems so sad though..glad to know you like the new blog design! i considered making little speech bubbles above the two birds heads but then thought it would look to cheasy : )
- trinsch: oh you are going to denmark soon, can understand why you at times miss the danish weather and light not to mention…i tend to take it for granted but when i was in china some years ago i was really reminded about the good parts of the danish weather - like low humidity. thanks for your compliments to my drawings!
- pia: you are welcome and thanks : )
- sandra: hehe, i think so too, that’s what will happen eventually : )

- kinako: thanks! - i am really really looking forward to go to berlin! hehe you are right, they probably will, people are so creative.
- trinsch: yeah, it’s just so nice when you find what you are looking for - like new glasses, the perfect trainers etc…
- anairam: thanks anairam! i must confess i didn’t know the word astute - but now i do : ) i know for my own part that i am very affected by where i live and my physical surrondings, it just means a lot
- rynke: thanks! actually the cafe on the corner is not that great, but i liked how they ceased the moment and put up the tables on the dirt road. : )

yashica outtakes

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

after having taken so many photos on the trip to prague and during the weekend in the summer house, my digital camera has been left on the shelf the last week or so. yesterday i tried out my new zeiss ikon camera and so far i like it! something fascinating about the fact that there’s no batteries and only mechanics doing the work. here’s some of the photos from my last yashica film that didn’t fit into any of the previous yashica posts. they are mostly from the abandoned buildings.

yesterday me and my friend marie went to see the film antichrist by the danish director lars von trier. it has been “talk of the town” at the cannes festival and it really is a both beautiful and brutal film. i had to look away from time to time as the images were to horrible to look at…but it’s one of those films that stays on your mind for days and really gets under your skin.

lotte: hehe jep tasken ligner virkelig et abehundekæledyr : ) lyder som et spændende projekt med din farfars gamle kamera - jeg siger go for it! og ja meget varmt disse dage - sommeren er ankommet!

an carol: hi an carol, thanks for dropping by. yes new small potatoes are so delicious and cute looking : )

rynke: thanks! yep it’s two for the price of one! pet + camera ; )

nathalie: thank you - i look forward to, always so exiting waiting to pick up analogue photos, only wish it wasn’t so expensive in denmark

gracia: glad you liked my wonderland interpretations, you can’t go wrong with white rabbits ; ) …i wasn’t really happy with it myself but it turned out semi-okay i think. about the handsome find - i will post some photos as swift as possible…just have to find something to photograph….

Anna: yeah i think so too, couldn’t believe my luck and it was only about 4 USD!…well i don’t know if it is fully working yet, but it seems like it : )

ai: hehe i like those rabbit pants too - thought that would make the illustration more wonderland like to have rabbits in suspenders : ) about the camera - thanks, it is a handsome little one

outi: yeah it really looks like a dog! i sometimes find it amazing how little it takes to see faces in things, this will never just be a camera bag but from now on a dogs face also. sounds like a good buy with those summer pants!

paula: it looks almost new i agree. i did clean it a little bit but it didn’t need that much cleaning. i will post the photos as soon as i have them!

allison: i’m looking forward also, allthough i’m a little bit worried about my lacking skills in correct exposure and distance as it is a viewfinder camera there’s no focus and you have to judge the distance to the object you’re photographing…i predict blurry photos will be the outcome : )

aris: thanks aris!
