teak

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

i went to a giant flea market today to look for some chairs for our kitchen. the flea market is located on the island refshaleøen in copenhagen and it’s the biggest one i have ever been to. i was especially overwhelmed by the amount of teak furniture they had there. i’ll show you what i bought later as the light disappeared before i got a chance to photograph the chairs and little bedside table i got.

second last day

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

2009 is slowly coming to an end. slowly in my world as the days between christmas and new year have been slow and cosy. went to visit my grandmother yesterday - she taught me some knitting tricks and we went for a frosty walk (show you some photos tomorrow) i’m also enjoying the lovely presents i got this christmas, beautiful things like the red milk jug in the first photo with red cups accompanying it. as you can see in the last photo my knitting project is progressing (however slowly). i’m knitting a hand towel in the same fashion as the ones my grandmother makes. never thought it would be that much fun to knit!

special occation + special mail

Monday, August 31st, 2009

today was the day when NE handed in his thesis - congratulations NE ! i hope we will have a big celebration soon!

it has definately become colder the past week or so and i rather like it. a couple of days ago i recieved a pair of beautiful wrist worms made by sandra. found them in her shop and couldn’t resist the yellow color. can’t wait for it to get even colder so i can wear them!

sorry for the weird hand photo…found out that it is hard photographing one hand while holding your camera/50 mm in the other hand so i experimented with the self-timer….now i’m going to go to bed early again - i’ll answer all your kind comments as soon as possible.

a new sofa needs…

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

it needs cushions! now that we have a dark brown sofa, it seems like you need some brightly colored cushions. the one on the left used to belong to my grandparents and the one on the right i bought today second hand. i really like the cross stitch pattern and the delicate light greens in it.

i also got another analogue camera in the thrift store today - couldn’t help myself, it was too much of a bargain. i’ll show you tomorrow. thanks for all your sofa comments!

mood bird

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

this christmas i got a lot of great but also very practical presents(because practical things were listed on my wishing list). except for two of them: a beautiful 50’s mirror from niller, that i’ll show you as soon as it is hung on the wall, and this little wooden bird i got from a friend. it is designed by the danish architect Kristian Vedel in 1959. the head is not joined to the body, so you can place it differently according to your mood. i like it!

newish webdesign

today has been another day in bed. at least i had time to have a look at my website and change the overall look, which has been on my mind for some time. as you can see it is very similar to the blog theme. the intention being that the two should seem connected….still not quite finished with it yet.
