sunny saturday

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

it’s the most beautiful sunshine today, so i started the day with a nice little walk around my neighbourhood. spring makes me long for a garden. i find working with plants such a relaxing thing to do. my substitute garden you can see in the second photo, i have been planting herbs - basil, coriander, rosmary and thyme, my favorites. i know that having them indoors probably means they won’t live very long but that’s okay.

oh almost forgot to mention the baby hats in the last picture. i found some nice alpaca yarn a while ago and i’m not sure i can ever go back. it’s incredibly soft and very nice to work with. anyway after making the two first hats i had to make another two with this yarn. i put two small pom poms on the blue one, never knew knitting could be so much fun - it’s a whole new world to me : )

enjoy your saturday everybody!

photos from another walk in the neighbourhood and a sunday tea (or was it coffee??)…usually the danish winter is a lot milder than it has been this year. i guess that’s why i keep posting snow photos here - as we normally only have snow for a week or so and then it’s over.

hope you’ll have a great monday! i’m working from home today, enjoying a good cup of coffee and the quietness.

walking on ice

Monday, January 11th, 2010

hi again! a week has passed with no time for blog reading or writing. today i have a somewhat quiet day and i can only say that i’m happy to be back in blogland! i’m overwhelmed by all your sweet comments lately and happy to hear from new readers. thanks for your comments!

yesterday i met up with some friends and their little ones to walk on the frozen lake around christiania. such a strange an interesting experience to walk on a frozen lake and suddenly see things in a different perspective.

i’ve been guest blogging over at anna’s blog - the baker’s daughter in relation to the series - 8 bloggers share their thoughts for a new year. what an honour to be in the company of such skilled photographers!

hope your monday is treating you well!

walking in a winter wonderland

my mother took this

hello, hello! i have changed location as i’m spending christmas at my parents house. all day yesterday the snow was falling but i didn’t arrive until in the evening when it was already dark. today i was so eager to get outside and enjoy/photograph the beautiful snowy landscape. i brought my contax camera alongside my digital camera and it felt great to take film photos again, allthough i’m always a bit indecisive having two cameras to choose between. : )

thanks for all your sweet comments and happy holidays!

night snow

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

there’s only four days till christmas! when i came home late yesterday night from the cinema, NE and i took a small walk around our neighbourhood to enjoy the sight of falling snow. i took similar night snow photos last year

wishing you a great sunday!

- anna: yeah it is fun to wrap these things in pretty wrappings and conceal what’s inside.
- ne: det er hemmeligt : )

red moleskine

Friday, December 18th, 2009

i can’t resist red moleskine diaries, it’s a fact. a couple of days ago i went christmas shopping and by coincidence spotted a bookshop that was selling moleskines. there’s always less red moleskines than black ones and therefore i convinced myself that it was a unique opportunity to get one in red (allthough i also got one just like it last year) and ended up buying one even though i had decided not to. silly, silly. photos are from a walk today in the nearby cemetery.

hope you’ll have a great friday!

this climate conference really is becoming more and more dramatic…looks like there’s not going to be an agreement, at this moment : /
- cissi: yeah it’s amazing how effectively snow lights up the sky! so pretty
- rynke: thanks! glad to hear you got snow as well : ) here there’s also not that much snow on the streets - i went to the nearby cemetery to actually walk in snow.
- lorenza: fingers crossed for a white christmas!
- ulrika: tak ulrika!
- allison: yeah, fingers crossed!
- maria: it hasn’t been a white christmas in denmark for years - i’m hoping for one as well : )
- anairam: : )
- mary: i hope you will have snow in france as well soon! it really is fun to see all these simultaneous snow posts from around the world, i agree.

again

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

two more or less random photos - i brought my camera with me today going christmas shopping but didn’t take any photos. feels like there’s hardly any light for taking pictures these days. the top photo is from a november walk, the second photo (slightly blurry) is of a thrifted sweater i bought a while ago and really like. love these kinds of sweaters.

the internet connection is gone again, so i’ll answer your comments at another time.

see you soon!

and then some…

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

couldn’t help myself, had to post a few more photos from our walk. it’s sunday and i’m home along working/drifting on the computer listening to the perfect sunday music - the national and headless heroes.

i can’t seem to get enough of autumn colors. but then it is a question of time before all the leaves have fallen off - better enjoy it while it lasts! took these photos this friday on my way to the louisiana museum.
