sweden is a beautiful country! i knew it already but i was surprised by its beauty none the less. i wish i had photos to show you of the rocky landscape, blooming trees, forest streams and charming wood houses but i hardy took any pictures on our bicycle trip because of the simple fact that my camera was stored away a little to well in my bicycle bag.

a lesson learned till next time. hope you had a lovely weekend!

NE and vilja

i have been for a short trip to lund this weekend - with NE, brinja, anders and their little girl vilja. boy is she cute! it was a bit of a last minute decision to go there and we had a great time, staying at lund’s train hostel enjoying the cosy atmosphere in the city and grilling food in the evening.

i got a surprise in the mail today and a great one! i’ll show you tomorrow.

and a couple more…

here are just a few more photos from lund and from the train journey going to lund. i like the one of NE holding his coffee cup in the air suspended while eagerly rephrasing a news article or something like that. tomorrow we are going to the small danish island called samsø to visit his father and stepmother who have a house there. i’m really looking forward!

- hanna: cool, i look forward to meeting you for a fika at “din nye ven”!
- ulrika, peggy and epe: thanks girls!

- mette / ungt blod: me too, you can really feel that it’s a university city!
- ai: thank you ai, happy to know you liked the grey post : ) actually NE and i talked about whether it felt like being in a foreign country and it really did! well of course it feels familiar as well becuase sweden is similar to denmark but it did feel like we were in another country and on holiday!

train

pictures from the old and stylish train/hostel we stayed in. so neat with these really small compartments where every inch is used in the best possible way.

lund:autumn

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

more photos from our small trip to lund, these ones came out in much warmer tones as the sun started shining in the afternoon. we stayed at a rather special place called “tåget” / “the train” which was an old night train parked at a track by the train station and now functioning as hostel. i’ll show you photos from the train later today!

by the way, i’m sorry none of these photos really say that much about lund, but my photos of the traditional cobblestone streets with sweet brick houses and from the cathedral didn’t turn out so well…so i’ve only got fragments of lund to show.

have a great wednesday folks!

- anairam:
thanks anairam : ) i agree on the leaves thing, the ultimate autumn/winter image that makes you want to drink hot tea and wear wolly scarfs - spot on!
- sekimachihato: actually these houses were not typical of lund. most of the houses were old brick houses in cosy cobblestone streets, but all my photos from the old part of lund didn’t turn out well. but i agree these are some rather neat modern houses.
- lorenza: thanks! i kind of like the white bike as well : ) it was a surprise to me that the bikes in lund look a lot different from the ones in denmark, more retro and 80s like. very nice bikes!
- sigga: tak sigga, glad for at høre du kunne li’ de grå billeder!
- nathalie: thank you nathalie. i really like muted tones/grey light as well sometimes, creates a whole different atmosphere.

back from lund

Monday, September 14th, 2009

hello everybody! we came home yesterday afternoon from a great trip to lund. a very short holiday (24 hours basically) : ) but we had a good time!

lund is such a charming university city. i’m coming back for sure. the weather was dim and grey when we got there - resulting in greyish photos, but some of them with nice muted tones. later the sun came out and the photo conditions changed dramatically. i’ll show you some of the more colorful and sunny ones tomorrow!

- ai: thanks ai, we had a very nice trip to lund. fun story about those two you met in louisiana and yes i do feel silly carrying around to slrs : ). more than once i asked myself why i brought two with me as the yashica is really heavy. but then again, it was nice to have both options at hand.
- esti: hello esti : ) the weather is so unpredictable here these days, but you are right being in a beautiful botanical garden, grey skies look good as well
- julochka: thanks, these are my favorite shoes at the moment…i don’t have that many shoes and when i have a favorite pair i tend to wear them ALL the time : ) saw your photos from legoland - it looked cosy! i remember legoland being so exiting as a child, “gold” washing being the favorite activity. hehe
- kristina: thanks! glad you like the botanical garden photos. i would have loved to meet for a coffee in lund! must do that next time, when hopefully i will know where we are going a little bit sooner : ) i hope you have recovered from the cold!
