as promised - some photos from a new Olafur Eliasson exhibition at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art. it’s a 90 meters long tunnel filled with dense fog and light. it’s hard to describe what it feels like to be walking inside a long passage where all you can see is fog and light that goes from white to black to intense yellow and white again but its an amazing experience! the first photo is by me and the other three press photos from the exhibition. its called Din blinde passager - Your blind passenger.

art forum berlin

Friday, October 8th, 2010

hello! sorry for the long absence. i have been down with a mild but very persistent flu. wednesday i went to berlin to attend art forum berlin. so much art to look at!. these photos were all taken quite early on the day, later the place was packed with people. i’ll be posting some more photos tomorrow.

i’m visiting my parents this weekend and looking forward to walks in the woods and a lot of analogue photography - my digital left at home.

have a great weekend folks!

the air is on fire

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

this weekend my old workspace the gallery GL STRAND reopened after a whole year being closed for renovations. and they opended with a magnificent david lynch exhibition called the air is on fire. it was very exiting to see the old building fully restored. still familiar but with a fresh and clean look. maybe you remember the photos from last time i visited during the renovation.

ML 2090

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

on the art gallery trip sunday we also went to see the exhibition ML 2090 in nikolaj copenhagen contemporary art center. a very fascinating exhibition by the artist ismar cirkinagic. the totalitarian architecture his installation portrays is said to be inspired by george orwell’s science fiction novel 1984. the ‘ML’ in the title of the project stands for ministry of love, another reference to orwell’s book. the full scale section of the imagined ministry of love made quite the impression, but also the small model i really liked. there’s just something spectacular (and a little bit scary!) about this type of architecture, even on a small scale.

the second last photo is taken in another gallery and is dedicated to NE who has an almost unhealthy interest in robot vacuum cleaners. yep that’s the round thing next to the sofa. it even looks like it’s color coordinated with the sofa. neat!

stripped

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

i’ve been visiting my old workplace - the gallery called GL STRAND yesterday. the place is currently being renovated which means that the old house (from 1750) has been stripped down to the raw planks and bare walls. so fascinating to see the many traces of previous lives lived in this house - you could see outlines of kitchen cabinets and floorboards in different shades revealing where previous rooms had been. i’m looking forward to see the finished result when the museum reopens next summer.

glad you liked the ‘hedgehog in the fog’ pictures, it really is an imaginative and sweet animation. have a great sunday dear blog readers. i hope to be posting more regularly from now on.

night in copenhagen

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

yesterday i went to this event called ‘nat i københavn’ or in english ‘night in copenhagen’. an event initiated by amongst others one of my friends - maja. it took place on a square in the area called nørrebro where a huge projection on the wall showed pictures taken by various people who had photographed the copenhagen night. it was accompanied by poems and music and really created a special atmosphere of “night”. i had also contributed with three photos (you can see one of them in the first photo). fun to see these photos in a larger scale and on a concrete wall.

today i picked up two films i have taken with my zeiss ikon contessa and the “new” contax camera i showed you some time ago. they both came out well i think although i made some distance calculation errors with the contessa. but blurry can be good right? : ) i look forward to showing you some of them tomorrow.

have a great saturday

- ai: i don’t know actually…my guess is for decoration/halloween. halloween is not a tradition in denmark but it is slowly making its entrance…i think originally for commercial purposes. this thursday i went to the tivoli gardens with brinja and they had opened up the gardens solely to celebrate halloween and attract guests with a magnificent halloween show and light decorations.
