city snow

last night i was very tired and ready to hit the bed at 9 pm. NE suggested that we took a walk in the neighbourhood as the snow was falling and eluminating the dark streets. it really was beautiful in the snow + darkness + artificial light kind of way. for me the beauty of a snowy landscape is hard to beat, but city snow has a charm of its own.

i like it too! the city changes so different when it gets under the snow. it becomes so silent, so soft, so slow. makes good for the cities once in a while to get slow;)
and it´s always fun to try to be the first one to make traces on the fresh snow!

Lovely pictures! It’s been snowing and snowing in Vienna all week. I think someone is trying to make up for the lack of snow so far. I am really enjoying just staying inside and getting some work done while it snows outside.

I am glad your man asked you to walk with him in the snow. These are beautiful images. I especially love the second one. It looks almost like a scene from animation or illustration.

rynke: thanks! some of them are a little bit blurry, since my auto focus is broken….just have to pull myself together and buy a new linse…
outi: yes it is a total change of the way the city looks! i love transformations like that. kind of the same effect with fog - it can change the scenery completely. i like walking in fresh and untouched snow too : )
catharina: it really sound like that’s the case, the weather gods trying to make up for this winter’s lack of snow! i like the staying indoors part as well - very cozy.
ai: i think it was a nice move as well : ) your right the second one looks kind of unreal.
vera: thanks a lot - glad you like them

Wow! I am so impressed by these photos! It is really hard to photograph the snow, it seems like it is always blurry or fuzzy. The second picture is my favorite! It is so crisp and beautiful!!

jeanette: yes they look kind of filmic because of the dramatic light caused by the snow i think..
jonna: that’s my favorite too and it really looks a lot like a moon
anna: thank you!
