mint green mania

the colour mint green has a strange attraction to me. this has meant that over the years i have collected a number of things almost purely because they were mint green. my collection ranges from kitchen utilities and jewelries to dishes and cans. well and then the colour also sneaks into a lot of my drawings.
note: i apologize for the bird’s missing feet, can’t seem to draw bird feet these days…

mmm cool mint, beautiful photos! when i look around in my home i see lots of different shades of red. not that i would say it´s my favorite colour. but somehow red has sneaked in to my life;)

alice: couldn’t agree with you more : )
outi: sometimes it’s like that, you don’t really notice a certain colour sneaking into your life until you look around and that colour is just everywhere. it happened to me!! he he

Me too! Such a cool serene color. I saw a vintage bowl identical to the one you have posted just the other day, but didn’t have any money on me. I loved the contrast of the dark outside and the creamy mint enamel inside.
And I love your bird. You could actually make birdie claws curving around the branch that would be similar to the curved lines of your branch hatching, but I think it looks just fine the way it is.

poor birds -they will have to just sit there and wait for you to draw birdfeet again :)

laura: i love those bowl! wish i could afford more but they are rather expensive. this one was a gift. the brand is called krenit and apparently is a danish design classic. i think curving claws is the best/easiest solution also..must work on that. glad you like it!
mette: ha ha yes they will have to sit and wait for their feet to arrive : ) poor birds. it can fly but it would prove a crash landing without feet.

Beautiful colour post! I love mint green also.

I love this color. I once read somewhere that, when decorating your home, you should just buy things you love and everything will just come together on it’s own. Looks like that’s what you’ve done and then, voila, hello mint green :-) Love the pictures!
I also baked bread according to your recipe yesterday! It was delicious and I can’t wait to make it again. Thanks for the recipe!

I too think this is a beautiful colour, so calming and gentle. I particularly love the idea of a collection based on colour.

valerie: judging from this post there’s quite a few mint green likers : )
louise: yes it is a very calm colour. i’m all in for cold colours. and i agree there’s something fascinating about a colour collection.

do you know what I bought 1 hour ago in a “Brockenhaus”?!
—- a nice pot with mint pattern and I was staying there with the pot in my hand and thought of you…
whether you would have bought it as well or not…

oh how fun i probably would have bought it too - hehe. i have been wondering what a brockenhaus is. is it like a second hand shop?
