so here are some of the photos i took in the cellar. downthere there was old traveling posters, destination signs, a controle room with phones and a lot of other exiting things…
an abandoned cellar…shiver. imagine one of those phones ringing while you were down there, and a mysterious voice on the other end. am wondering what is written on the blackboard (?) near the mattresses…
that would be very scary! glad i didn’t think about that possibility while i was down there - not sure i would dare to pick up the phone : ) on the blackboard is says “the teacher is stupid”…makes it all a lot less scary
i was hired by my friend michael to document the entire building and the ajoining rail yard. a really cool assignment! the reason being that soon the buildings would be turned into a place for cultural production, so they wanted to have some pictures before everything changed. i could imagine having a studio there as well. not bad!
They really should tare it down. Old buildings are not energy saving.
Then they could build a cement building without any windows (to much energy is leaving the building from them) and one door with a dock behind it to isolate the inside from the outside in the most energy saving way.
Then they could put solar cells all over the building and some windmills on the top.
I just hope they make as cool an cellar in the new building.
I love the sign commando room followed by the photo of the room behind the sign containing 3 phones and a disembodied door and two old maddresses.
If thats not a commando room I don’t know what would qualify.
jeanette: i agree, old buildings have so much character and charm and sometimes it’s very inspiring when a building built for a particular purpose is used for something else.

about the renting: it’s not in copenhagen but on the mainland in aarhus, the second largest city in denmark, so it would be too far away : )

ok.
but it’s nice they’ll place some cultural stuff there and don’t break it down as they often do it here with old buldings…

Guys! We have to think about the environment!

morten. you do have a point..didn’t really consider the environmental effects..hehe but i’m not sure about the cement building with no windows : )
